There is no need to investigate whether our elected government violated Officer Moore's rights. There is also already a credible government procedure underway to punish the person responsible for the violation of Officer Moore's rights. No one is concerned that this procedure will be politically influenced or corrupted. |

A looooong time ago (1972) during another era of heated confrontations between the police and people of color, a very wise cop, Sgt. Thomas Moriarty of the NYPD, had this to say about two cops (Foster and Laurie) that were gunned down in the streets of his city:"They were killed because of their color, which was neither black nor white, but blue." He was absolutely correct. That said, I certainly don't want to see cops getting killed, by people of any description, nor do I want to see anyone dying in police custody under seriously questionable circumstances. I DO want to see more and better supervision, so that the (admittedly few) bad cops out there don't kill us without reason. We give our police, out of necessity, an awesome amount of power. They should be held accountable for their actions in equal measure. |
