That guy was cool. Tragically, I did not see the work of said individual as time was limited. I was preoccupied with the Cezanne exhibit while doing my usual rounds of the Annenberg Collection featuring the Impressionists, the Dutch and Flemish Masters such as Rembrandt, Hals, and van Eyck, the Robert Lehman Collection and the attendant Italian Renaissance galleries, the Art of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, and the Greek vessels in the Greek and Roman Period Wing. I wore my gray herringbone jacket and a pair of old jeans to blend in with the rest of the Progressive Democrats, who were walking around writing in notepads and wearing those Metropolitan Museum of Art audio headphones, before throwing some change into the violin case of a musician performing a requiem in a walkway beneath East Drive in Central Park. Hopefully, this statement serves to answer the inquiry to your satisfaction. You can address any further concerns to c-rtely-unext which will be answered at a time and place of my choosing. |

Love this woman!Jazz film conservator David Chertok (don't know if he's still around), put together a bunch of clips of Billie Holidy that I saw during the early 70s. OMG... the sublime power of this woman's performance, came right through the old black and white clips and out into the audience....! I picked up a cassette from a street vendor years back of a Billie Holiday performance at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston - early 1950s. Maybe it was a broadcast? Sound is very good. May be only a boot cassette of mine, but it's a treaasured one. |

And who here would be narrow minded enough to think that "oh dark thirty" expression would be racist?? My last boss on the RR before He retired used to use that expression many times. He was an (Ret) Air Force Colonel who spent many years in the mid-east & often used that expression when he wanted his underlings to show up early. When he told me that Turks weren't allowed to use toilet paper, I'd say "Off we go into the wild blue yonder..." were words to live by!! |
