Love this woman!Jazz film conservator David Chertok (don't know if he's still around), put together a bunch of clips of Billie Holidy that I saw during the early 70s. OMG... the sublime power of this woman's performance, came right through the old black and white clips and out into the audience....! I picked up a cassette from a street vendor years back of a Billie Holiday performance at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston - early 1950s. Maybe it was a broadcast? Sound is very good. May be only a boot cassette of mine, but it's a treaasured one. |
