That would be permanent jobs. How many construction jobs are actually permanent? You finish the job and then move on. This is how it works. Thousands of construction jobs, "shovel ready" that will last 2 years or so.

fiogf49gjkf0d
We should not ship that gunk at all.

Either we have freight trains blow up towns, or we contaminate entire aquifers and river systems.

It is expensive to refine, poor quality, environmentally dangerous to get it, ship it, goes straight out to the world market, and does nothing to reduce oil dependency.

IOW, it is all pain, no gain for the USA.

I believe it's safer for Americans that TransCanada ship their oil to China by going thru Canada rather than using our Great Plains' aquifers as their dumping grounds.

However Canadian provinces have already nixed that idea.

We could build bunch of Walmarts.
Or we can replace some highway and railroad spans.
Or we can start submerging our power grid so that 98% of it is not above ground.

If Canada wants to ship it, Canada can send it to Prince Rupert, or Canada can go fuck itself.

Public opinion is slowly turning. In my right-winged CD, it is just 55% in favor, 42% opposed.

Ranchers in Nebraska are becoming aware of the ground-water issues that can wipe out their cattle, crops, and existence. So they are creating Eminent Domain issues that will take at least 3 years to clear, and their movement is growing.

The majority have been brainwashed by the liars in Congress into thinking it brings many thousand of permanent jobs and know nothing of the environmental damage.

Best to ignore them.

The majority don't want fare increases or service cuts. It happens anyway. You have no problem with that.

So then because the majority of Americans don't agree with you, they've been brainwashed? Perhaps its you that's been brainwashed. I guess from your point of view it would be best to ignore the majority when they dare disagree with you. Now for the record, why don't I have a problem with fare increases or service cuts?

Yes they have been brainwashed, because they are running on bad information - has nothing to do with me. They watch CSPAN, CNBC, and FOX and hear it is a "job creator", and "energy independence" which is all nonsense. Then no mention of the environmental effects and that none of it goes directly to the US markets. The support is starting to fall.

TA's operating budget is your job, isn't it ? Obviously if they never raise fares, your job is threatened.

Clearly with advanced thinking like yours, I'm no match for you, intellectually. You win.

But for the record, where did you ever get the idea that I had anything to do with the TA operating budget or that my job would be threatened if fares were not raised? Again, ponder this, if what you say is true, then why does the TWU always oppose fare hikes?

Theory about TWU, fare hikes suppress ridership, especially on the bus side, so not good for maintaining or increasing number of union jobs.
