Many mainstream Christian groups (among others) will happily accept that God set the world in motion before the big bang and has only interfered in a very limited way since then.

And they pray because...?

Sure, turning water into wine violates all the laws of physics. But it's not actually part of Christian dogma.

It's part of Catholic dogma. Other sects reject it.

The one item that really defies the laws of physics and is essential dogma is that Jesus's disciples went to the tomb the next day and his body had vanished.

So Jesus's body vanished, but otherwise he was never seen again? Christians believe we should worship the guy because someone nicked his body after he was killed? I'm pretty sure they may have mentioned something about him coming back to life.

OK, let's try again.

There is a filter on SubChat that replaces your name (and only your name) with your handle.

You agree with everything except the part in parentheses, so tell me who else's name gets filtered.

Larry installed this filter.

If you disagree, then tell me who else has admin rights on SubChat.

This filter clearly benefits you but does not clearly benefit Larry.

If you disagree, then tell me how it benefits Larry.

The filter's existence did not take you by surprise, despite being specific to you.

Link to the post where you expressed surprise at the filter's existence.

You have dodged and evaded the obvious questions with respect to the filter.

Answer them.

Therefore, a reasonable person would conclude that you requested that the filter be installed.

Provide the evidence offered above.

So yeah, for now I'm going to have to stick with:

My first post in the current exchange was to sarcastically point out the existence of obvious bigotry, so I'm going to have to ask you to justify your claim about "attitude."

I have been on SubChat for years, so I'm more than qualified to post here— knowing a couple of in-jokes is pretty much entirely incidental.

Moreover, if understanding something is contingent on said in-jokes, then reasonable people would explain what they meant. I never claimed to be telepathic.

Bob and his family are a metaphor for the total category of white people in general.

1. You admit that exclusionary immigration policies have been passed; the current policy that declares Hispanic people "illegal" but is kinder to whites is another example.
2. The point is that black people are denied mortgages (and services) based on the colour of their skin, giving white people an unfair advantage.
3. Black people have been turned down from jobs due to the colour of their skin, giving (less qualified) white people an unfair advantage.
4. People who were adults before the Civil Rights Act was passed are still alive; even explicit slavery was only a few generations away. You can't seriously claim that black people aren't poorer overall due to racism.
5. The point is that white people are far more likely to be let off with a warning (and black people far more likely to be arrested without cause).

You're the one who can't figure out racism. I explained the concept of white privilege to you, but you simply through a screaming fit and denied it. I explained exactly how you benefit from racism, but you threw a screaming fit and insisted you never read it because it's wrong and slanted and evil. Then you spewed on at great length how you never read any of my posts beyond the first few words. Speaking of which, if you actually read this post, prove it by including the word "replevin" in your reply; failing to do so will result in a CAPTCHA. After throwing the screaming tantrum, you then went on to dodge every question, and post absurd childish insults.

If you're not a racist, then explain why the cartoon bothers you so much. I await your inevitable dodges, evasions, and/or non sequiturs.

No, I needn't believe there is a teapot in orbit. But in the absence of any evidence one way or the other science can't say that such a statement is categorically false. This is what Nilet claims. He says that if there is no evidence whatsoever for the null hypothesis, then it IS false, not just likely to be false.

In fact, there probably is considerable evidence that there are no teapots in orbit, so it's not really such a good example.

my comment about "religion" is simple..it is NOT something GOD wanted for Man..it is a man made tool that uses spirituality to control men.

Again..this is where "humanism" rears its ugly head, where "Mankind" has
feels he has "outgrown" the use of any spiritual mentor, creator or savior...shifting his "worship" to other ideals..such as self gratification or glorification.

Nevertheless, there probably is considerable evidence that there are no teapots in orbit. I'm not saying that I have the evidence, just that I suspect it exists.

... there is evidence all around us...

Then it shouldn't be too difficult for you to provide some.

Define "god."

Define "religion."

Define "spiritual" or "spirituality."

even if you dropped God on their laps..they STILL WONT BELIEVE he's sitting there.

Funny, because you haven't done that. You've spouted off at great length about what you assume I believe, you've referred to it as "doctrine" without the slightest sense of irony, but while you've claimed the evidence for your god is so pervasive, you haven't offered any— just excuses that I "wouldn't believe it" if you did.

So prove your point.

First define "god" (since your use of the term differs from the other people in this thread).

Then offer the evidence that he/she/it/they exist.
