He came up with this "evolving" rubbish out of political necessity:

I dunno. If we can't believe him regarding his own morality, what can we believe? He was asked several times during the 2008 election and answered several times that he believed that marriage was between a man and a woman. He even said that during one of the debates. His "evolving" position came years later because there is an imminent election. He'll likely have a similar "evolution" regarding illegal immigration in the next few months after deporting more illegal immigrants than any previous President.
