It doesn't work here only because people are stubborn and have an aversion to change (as in change of their way of life, not coin style change). In Canada, the dollar bill was eliminated in 1987 and life went on... there was no rioting in the streets, no whining and crying like a bunch of spoiled babies, no nothing. The people eventually got used to it, just like anything else. If try the same thing in the U.S., after the riots and whining and crying dies down, everybody will get used to it... |
