Wrong. They send their child to a school whose rules are set by their local school board. If they do not either interact with (PTAs are often a conduit for parental input to a school board) or become a member of such board to provide their input, they have to live with whatever rules there are. Seems a lot of people here are whining about something happening at the local level 500ish miles away from the NYC metro area. Read the article. It's entirely a local issue in NC. Not N*Y*C. The way to prevent this from happening here is to get involved in setting meal rules so it does not occur locally. Whining about this does not solve anything, the whiners have NO say in a local affair 500 miles from their home, and don't seem to care enough to do anything locally to ensure similar incidences effect their families. THAT IS THE ISSUE. It is NOT th e"government"doing this. It is a local issue.

If you blow a dog whistle, expect a dog. Caring for that dog is now the whistle blower's problem. Walk the walk or STFU.
