I think the "fundamentalist Christians" were well aware of him. To me, this season was a continuation of the controversy that started over Tebow's Super Bowl ad. Once he was playing and lost his first game, it gave opponents of Christianity a platform to stand on. Then he unexpectedly went on a winning streak and things escalated from there. |
