IMHO, The big 3 still doesn't get it, many European cars on the American market are still quirky (and expensive) so I'm staying with the Japanese for now.The problem is that there are few affordable European cars for the American marketplace. Oddly, GM and Ford could easily port over their European offerings to fix their small car line ups, but GM has refused to do so*, and Ford Americanized the Focus too much. Then we're stuck with VW selling cars with questionable reliability and Mexican assembly. In addition, the French automobile industry, despite improved reliability, are still ruling out a return to the North American marketplace. *The Vectra to Saturn L-Series conversion doesn't count. |
