I used to think that 2-family homes were exempt from a lot of the tenant protection laws because they are not multiple dwellings, I guess not.They are. It's way harder to get someone out of a 6+ unit building. 2-5 family you can always get them out eventually - they have no right to a renewal lease. 6+-family, if they are rent stabilized and pay their rent you'll never get them out unless they provably have destroyed the place. |
