Revisiting this, I noticed that a key belief underlying your thought on race issues is that you seem to believe that differences between groups of people is primarily due to differences in culture: middle-class, suburban blacks are more well-behaved and higher performing because they have a better culture and shun the "ghetto hip-hop thug" mentality—you seem to think. I think to an extent you believe that this is the source of differences between the races.

You really don't know black people or minorities. You got the hell out of NY and you never looked back. Got yourself a house or apartment in as white an environment as you could and prefer an environment where there are lots of white people with fuel efficient automobiles and little dogs.

My point is that blacks of all backgrounds embrace the "ghetto hip-hop thug" mentality. Whether they're from Queensbridge Houses or a one-family tree-lined street on Long Island or even rural Pennsylvania(Poconos or Lehigh Valley) there seems to be a trend, almost a movement, to embrace the "ghetto" culture.

For you to say that suburban blacks shun the ghetto and hip-hop culture exposes you for the out-of-touch liberal that you are.

This embracing of the ghetto is in the form of first names, dress, attitudes towards white people, education, police, music, etc.......

Whites have many cultures to chose from I guess. There are yuppies. There are rednecks. There are guidos. Those girls in the video posted by Mr. Mabstoa are ghetto even if they live in a solid middle class household as I suspect they do.

Do they look like they live in a ghetto? It does not matter anyway. They are culturally ghetto. It's a lifestyle. An attitude.

Haven't you ever met a black person who says "y'all" meanwhile they were born in Suffolk County Long Island or Queensbridge? Why is that? Why would someone from the north speak with a southern accent?
