Jobs in the oil or other energy industries (and related steel, construction, energy crops, etc) are GOOD jobs.
I'd rather see 200,000 waitresses and fast food workers lose their jobs if the tradeoff is 100,000 new jobs in or related to the domestic energy industry whether it's in fossil fuels (for now) or in alternative energy and their suppliers.

For that we need higher oil prices.
If prices were to gradually go up to $200 within two-three years, we would see a flourishing of good jobs in both new and old industries and services.
Other categories would lose their jobs? So what?
