None of those things are a natural consequence of communism

Of course they are because communism can only be maintained by authoritarian power. People want to be free to own property and accumulate wealth. What good is working only for basic needs and not much else. I would not want to work or live in a country that would not let me own my own house.



Certainly the mess we got ourselves into with our laissez faire capitalist economy of the last decade should push us toward a bit more socialism when it comes to essential services.

Too many of those services have already been socialized and we all see how well they function - I would NOT want the MTA to be my electric or phone provider under ANY circumstances!
