I've got no problem with police asking a suspected criminal "Where were you born?" I guess it shows how dumb many are that they don't just say Los Angeles.OK, now suppose the guy says Mexico City and the cop asks for a green card. Again, I guess a lot of them are dumb, or they'd just say "I'm a citizen now; I don't have a green card any more." I certainly have no objection to police using the stupidity of possible criminals to their advantage in enforcing the law. I do have concerns (as does Jeb Bush) with the possibility that someone who is a citizen, gives their name, but says they don't have ID, being arrested. Others here seem to be sure that is going to happen; I personally have no idea if it will. |
