He isn't so fondly remembered *in* the Massachussetts Governor's office either. :)

I don't know about that. He was a major backer of Scott Brown's candidacy, and was acknowledged as such. In MA, he didn't even pretend to go off the deep end. I realize that he thought that he had to be just to the right of the Taliban to make it through certain GOP primaries, but it's ultimately better to be yourself, to say that you can win, and do things that way. Remember, MA doesn't have a history of right wing Republicans, e.g, Mr. Romney, William Weld, Scott Brown, etc. It'd be nice to have someone who could replicate the last sane quest for the GOP presidential nomination (this one) who might have a chance of actually winning.
