Natural disasters and other tragedies don't necessarily contradict the supposition that God is good; such also occurred in Biblical times (In some of those cases, natural disasters were one way God exacted judgment against a people). Put another way, that God Himself is not evil does not mean that evil itself cannot exist; many Christians (myself included) also acknowledge the existence of Satan.This isn't to say that Satan (or demons) are the sole cause of evil; people are capable of deciding to do things that one might judge to be "good" or "evil" (of course we didn't cause the quake in Haiti, but I speak in general terms). my blog |
