What choice did they have when subsidies were cut and they were not even permitted to raise the fare to the MTA levels?I wasn't in their line of work, so I can't say. But what I will say is that the other franchise holders - NY Bus Service, Liberty Lines Express, and Queens Surface - were much, much, much better. No exaggeration at all. And they were under the same strictures. In fact, I'll go one further: if the Cooper franchises were not run the way they were, and were run along the lines of the rest, I don't think that there would have even been a takeover. |
