Univision is doing monster business with the younger demos. Telemundo, Galavision, mun2, Fox Sports espanol, and Telefutura are too. If you look at Spanish television ratings, to get the numbers they do, it would mean that every single immigrant is watching them. That's not possible. They are capturing second-generation Latinos as well. Sabado Gigante is great, even for younger people."Latin" music is an ever greater link for Latinos to their culture. Even when Latinos prefer English, they prefer groups like Calle 13, and listen to Latino radio. That's why 93.1 in NYC runs English language ads, and the DJ's speak both English and Spanish. |
