I *know* what you mean, but out of any last bit of respect for ME you have, step off here ... Obama got it ... and with a lot of WHITE votes too. Old realities HAVE fallen ... there are OTHER minorities (like WOMEN who are 53% of the population, and kicked aside) who ALSO need some peace ... and justice. I understand that California Black men don't approve, and most white people don't either ... but EQUAL means EQUAL.You're letting WHITE people control your thoughts there, buddy ... Reality (at least to my mind) is that people should be free to be themselves behind closed doors or else the same mentality selling this nonsense endorses Rodney King ... injustice is injustice no matter WHO or WHAT it touches ... I have more faith in you than that, sure hope I'm not hearing you properly ... is it THAT big a deal what OTHERS think? Are we not all EQUAL under the law? Or is the whole "civil rights" thing just for SOME people, but not OTHERS? If people are not up in your face, does it matter? No offense, but isn't it about the quality of one's soul rather than the opinions of others? Like I said, I'm quite straight (with proff, heh) ... but WHEN is discrimination justified? Or should we let those folks roll back YOURS? When it comes to rights, taking rights away from ANYBODY threatens the taking away of rights from others. "Remember GITMO" if it makes the point. Nobody's ASKING anyone to convert here, simple matter of human dignity based upon the caste system imposed ... I'm for the freedom of EVERYONE, and can't see casting people aside on a basis of disapproval of ANY group. Otherwise, let's bring back "Jim Crow." :( |
