Are you able to open a can of cat food or dog food for a pet?Yes. You can feed your pets/animals with no problem. The only prohibition is against the human eating or drinking. Or what about on shabos-manual can openers okay I'd have to ask a rabbi. My cats eats dry cat food and that comes from a bag or container with a lid. But according to this link, it seems like opening a can (with a manual can opener, like you said) would be ok. http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:ap4e2ffmk9cJ:torah.org/advanced/weekly-halacha/5757/beshal.html+opening+cans+on+shabbos&hl=en&lr=lang_en |
