That webpage said you are allowed to open a package on Shabbos, so long as it doesn't rip through one of the letters on the packaging. For example, if you rip through the "D" in "Doritos" (I don't know if they are kosher, but for argument's sake say they are) it is bad, but if you rip between the "D" and the "o" it's okay. I just found that a bit strange, but whatever. |
