Many Years ago I remember when you went to the doctor to get well you got a handwritten prescription. I could never understand what was written down, but the pharmacist never seemed to have a problem understanding it. My parents told me that it was written in Latin and the amount of medicine called for was written in Roman Numerals that Pharmacists had to know. Worked for me back when I was an impressionable (gullable) kid. |
