Russian Yiddish sounds very different than Eastern European Yiddish. The accents are different and the dialect has differences too. My grandfather had a Russian-Jewish housekeeper for many years who spoke Russian Yiddish. Even though I am very fluent in Yiddish, I had a hard time understanding her because of the accent.
