So 13 deaths isn't enough for you?939 deaths by automobile is too much for me. Almost all the vehicles were registered, had insurance and the drivers had valid licenses. That's your proposal for saving lives from the "scourge" of e-bikes. It hasn't worked for motor vehicles. There's no evidence it would work differently for e-bikes. if it was your parent, your spouse, or your child who got killed by an e-Bike. I've had 3 friends killed by automobiles. No action was taken against the drivers, although none had the right of way when the collision occurred. Drivers generally get a free pass unless there was an additional contributing factor like alcohol involved. Even then, punishment isn't proportionate to the death toll, as this recent article demonstrates. https://archive.li/eHKwZ |
