Low or no water pressure in the hydrants is greatly complicating firefighting. Because the area's so hilly, huge tanks on top of the hills provide pressure for high-elevation hydrants. Unfortunately, the tanks have run dry and the hydrants at lower elevations are using so much water there's not enough to pump up to the tanks to refill them. |
