I don’t think that ending a life is something that needs to be prevented. I have no problem ending the lives of other animals for the purposes of sustenance, or any other purpose. It’s humanity that’s special, not “life.” Besides, if you want to make it about “life,” there are plenty of organisms that don’t have hearts or heartbeats, they’re certainly still life, while an embryo without a heartbeat is still alive as it has living cells just the same. |
