Yes, he has a point that there are some advantages to being in a stable family that can barely scrape together enough resources to avoid starvation or homelessness, as opposed to being more comfortable but far more chaotic.The latter outcome isn't a good one, but that doesn't make the former outcome acceptable either. I don't object to observations that some aspects of life have gotten worse for some of the poor. I do object to assertions that they used to be good. |
