The point that he has is that some people actually avoid marriage because it would diminish welfare benefits.Agreed that's bullshit. Some fathers may at times have evaded child support because they figured that the mother was doing fine on welfare and didn't need his money. But in the absence of welfare those fathers might maybe be dropping off some cash from time to time to assuage any feelings of guilt but they wouldn't sudenly repent and become dutiful and attentive fathers. |
