Posted by Train Dude on Thu Jan 14 23:06:10 2021 In the 1960s, we were required to read "1984" by George Orwell. Food for thought in those days. You knowing, thought police and being encouraged to report those who did not follow the inner party rule. In true Orwell fashion, I had a very close friend back then who found out that her mother was having an affair. She never told her siblings - at least not then, but she wanted to tell her father but asked me what I thought. Long story short, I told her that she would destroy her family and her relationship with her mother for ever if she told her father.I only mention this yesterday because 18 year old Helena Duke from MA. recognized her mother, her uncle and aunt on TV as people who were among the US Capitol rioters. Faced with a similar dilemma, Helena did what any woke child would do and turned her mother, her uncle and aunt in. Well, what the fuck. Christmas is over and she'll worry about next Christmas when the time comes. Couldn't help thinking , what an Orwellian thing to do to one's own mother. There's got to be a special place in hell for a bitch like Helena. |
