Of course it's not happening much now, because for the majority of people you need to either show up at the polling station or make the decision in advance to vote by mail.If everyone votes by mail that changes things. You don't need to forge a signature, just say "hey kid, sign this shit". As someone who didn't particularly care for politics for, say, the 2002 Governor race, I would have just been "whatever" if a parent handed me a filled in ballot waiting for a signature. I doubt I am an outlier or even in the minority of 18-29 year olds, as evidenced by the abysmal voter turn out of that group in the Dem primaries. |
