I put the blame for ISIS squarely on the backs of the Iraqi and Syrian govts. The Iraqis gutted their trained military and filled it with corrupt officers, which otherwise would have easily routed ISIL at that time. The Syrians prioritized getting rid of any pro-democracy movements than in getting rid of the vastly more brutal ISIS. |
