I didn't ignore Obama's serious mistake. I was concerned about it at the time.Also not whataboutism because it's not directly comparable to what Obama did. Obama implemented a slowdown of the withdrawal schedule originally put into place by President Bush, and the withdrawal was undertaken after detailed consultation with senior military officials (among whom, of course, there was no unanimous agreement on any single course). In contrast, Trump did this on a whim without consulting anyone, and without any planning to minimize adverse effects. As an aside, maybe the Iranians will tone down their anti-Trump rhetoric now that he's proving himself to be their faithful friend. |
