REVEALED: Jussie Smollett did NOT tell police his attackers shouted 'this is MAGA country!' the first time he spoke to them and did not want to involve authorities but a 60-year-old friend insisted that they call 911

  • An incident report was released by the Chicago Police Department on Monday
  • It says the pair of attackers used their teeth as well as hands and feet as weapons
  • Both assailants wore all black and one was masked when they struck on Jan 29
  • Officers found Smollett in 'stained clothing' still wearing a 'rope around his neck'
  • The incident is being investigated as a possible racist and homophobic crime
  • Police have found more surveillance cameras to download footage from to try to find the attackers
  • There is no mention of the attackers shouting 'This is MAGA country' in the police report, as Smollett's manager claimed they did

Jussie Smollett did not tell police in his first interview that his attackers yelled 'this is MAGA country' before jumping him, the original police report has revealed, and did not want to involve the authorities.

The 36-year-old actor was walking home from Subway to his apartment when he was jumped by two men who were dressed entirely in black, the report, which DailyMail.com obtained a copy of on Tuesday, reveals.

They got his attention by calling him 'Empire f****t n*****' then battered him 'about the face' and 'poured an unknown chemical substance on him.'

One of the men, described as a 'primary aggressor' was wearing a black mask, he told the cops.

Smollett's manager, Brandon Z. Moore, previously said that he was on the phone to him when the incident happened and that he heard the attackers shouting 'This is MAGA country!'.

Smollett told the police that detail in a follow-up the next day. He also declined to give his phone to police for them to verify that he and his manager were on a call when the attack took place.

The actor was left bruised and with minor injuries. After being beaten, Smollett returned to his apartment, keeping a white rope around his neck which he told the police the pair had put on him.

Forty minutes later, officers arrived at the apartment at the request of a 60-year-old man.

The 200-lb man, who was previously described to DailyMail.com as an 'associate' of the actor, insisted that they call the authorities. He and one other person who was also in the apartment greeted officers in Smollett's apartment building lobby.

They told the cops that Smollett did not want to report the incident but that they told him it was 'in his best interest to.'

Police found Smollett in his apartment with a white rope 'draped around his neck.'

It is not clear if the associate, who has not been named, was inside his apartment already when he returned or if he called him to come round after returning home.

Police have also recently found footage taken on additional security cameras which they hope may reveal who the attackers are.

They were in the process of downloading that footage on Monday night and have still not come any closer to identifying two men whose images they previously released and described as 'persons of interest.'

They have not even be able to determine whether the men are homeless.

The attack took place on January 29 at around 2am, soon after Smollett had left a Subway restaurant and was heading back towards his apartment.

He was picked back up by a different camera later as he entered his apartment building with the rope around his neck and salt from the ground on his sweatshirt.

The police report also confirms that Smollett told authorities he received homophobic hate mail in the a week prior to the alleged hate crime.

It was sent to the studio where he films Empire and is said to have terrified staff.

President Trump has condemned the attack as 'horrible'.

'That I can tell you is horrible. I've seen it … last night. It doesn't get worse, as far as I'm concerned,' the President said.

Smollett played a sold-out show at the famous Troubador in Los Angeles over the weekend, but canceled a follow-up a meet-and-greet session because of the incident.

Addressing the incident to huge crowds on Saturday, he said: 'I'm not fully healed yet… but I'm going to be, and I'm gonna stand strong with y'all.'

'I had to be here tonight, y'all. I couldn't let those [expletive] win,' he said, adding that his family and friends had wanted him to cancel the entire performance.

'Regardless of what anyone else says, I will only stand for love and I hope that you all stand with me.'
Something very wrong with this story indeed. Sounds like jilted lover, if Smollet did not want to go to the cops.
