Has nothing to do with greed, simple supply/demand. Right now the prices are reasonable because the customers are mainly people who seek out local. Take out the red states and suddenly, everyone who needs to eat now is buying local. Do you really think there's enough cows and chickens in New York state to handle more than a month's worth of NYC's beef, egg and poultry consumption?Unless city denizens start learning some good pigeon recipes, they will still need to give that money to the red states to buy food. |
