Whenever I'm about to drive somewhere, I open Google Maps and check the traffic layer first. I (generally) zoom out so my origin and destination are in the same frame, I make an observation then choose my travel route, it really is a time saver. You would have seen the dark red line and avoided the BQE. You may have even seen that the Van Wyck Expressway was clear (which actually does occur, haha) |
