You posted with no explanation a graphic that has continually been used to mock my father ~in a thread where I have just posted that he is seriously ill~. I would have hoped you would have taken the time to think "Is this going to be received well by someone who has just told us that her father is very seriously ill and is probably super upset about that because it's her DAD?"To answer that question, no, it was not. It was a painful reminder of my father's decline over the last eighteen months. It was not cute, funny or clever, it did not make me laugh and I cannot imagine what on earth would have made you think it was appropriate, especially given that in my post I stated that part of my father's illness has affected his mental health. Everyone else here - regardless of previous behavior - has wished him and/or our family well. I see nothing like that in your comment. Furthermore (in case anyone was worried) I have no intention of calling out anyone for their past behavior. Everyone has the chance for redemption and forgiveness. If people are now taking a moment to think "Oh, maybe I should have stopped and been more patient" - that is entirely up to them, and it is not my job to come in scolding anyone for their previous actions. |
