There's nothing wrong with the Department of Homeland Security, only the name sucks. Most countries have the same functions vested in a Ministry of the Interior, a name which we've squandered for our land management agency.As for your claims of defeat, lots of crybabies claimed that the US lost the Cold War at various points, such as when the Korean War ended, or the Berlin Wall was built. In the case of something as abstract and completely stupid as "the War on Terror." It's impossible to say whether anyone has won, and fear is the most efficient tool for maintaining power. |
