Here's a better idea... Instead of discussing "proposals" and "concepts," they should just announce whatever it is that they already decided before the process even began. |

Notice that you can't vote for Option 4 - No Select Bus Service. That is because they decided before the study began, there would be Select Bus Service. All three options have problems. Option 1 would seriously delay emergency vehicles because buses would have nowhere to move to get out of the way of emergency vehicles and if sidewalks are extended at bus stops, they would not be able to get around stopped buses. Option 2 woud be disastrous for car and truck traffic, cutting capacity by 50% from four lanes to two with a third lane for local traffic which may mean right turns only. Option 3 would result in people running across traffic lanes to catch buses in the center of the roadway increasing the accident potential. Also, where was the publicity for this meeting before it occurred? On the buses only? What if you don 't ridete buses? Doesn't your opinion count also? |

Death knell for Rockaway Branch rail. Not at all. It could even help the case for Rockaway Beach rail by showing there is latent demand for improved north-south service. The difference is that Select Bus Service can be done within a year and for millions of dollars, while rail, even if the project started tomorrow, would be a decade away and cost billions of dollars. The need for improved transit is there now. |

Didn't realize at first this was only for civic organizations. Still it makes no sense that you can only vote for oe of the options, not rejection of all. So it really doesn't matter what the community wants. They must accept one. What study decides the conclusions before it begins and why is no data released regarding expected savings and inconveniences so the communities can decide if this is what they want? |

The Cross Bay-Woodhaven line, which would be based on the existing Q52/53 bus routes, would be the first of its kind in Queens.Incorrect - - a portion of the M60SBS+ runs in Queens. |
