Death knell for Rockaway Branch rail.Not at all. It could even help the case for Rockaway Beach rail by showing there is latent demand for improved north-south service. The difference is that Select Bus Service can be done within a year and for millions of dollars, while rail, even if the project started tomorrow, would be a decade away and cost billions of dollars. The need for improved transit is there now. |
