You'd also see them in the Bronx on the M100 and Bx6 as those routes operated from AMS depot, which had abut half of the WMATA buses. The rest (at MABSTOA) was at FFS. I do recall seeing many of them on Staten Island with plenty of them also making express runs. |

The Grumman & Flx metro werent bad buses persay. Maint. wise a bit of a PITA. Lots of layers to go through to get to some items. Rear supension repairs easy, like a dream to get to the bellows, leveling valves & such. The fron OTOH a bitch. The Metro's a bit ahead of their time, very elctrical and had many items now standard on other buses that didn't come about until multiplexing. That also made them electrical nightmares, though. |
