All it means is that you are allowed to go on the bus. It is basically the equivalent of "go" on the bus. The reason why it says "pass ok" is because easy pay refills automatically. |

I've gotten "Pass OK" a number of times (with ordinary MetroCard, not even an easypay). It will either help you or leave you neutral. I have never lost a fare to it.Since I usually get that display after the farebox held my card for a while (as if trying to read it) my hypothesis is that the system was having a hard time reading the card but was able to figure out enough about it that it was valid for the ride and no attempt at evading fare was being made. That's just a hypothesis though. |

I've experienced that holding of the card while trying to read it, but that didn't happen here; the card came right back out with the "Pass OK" display instantaneous. And earlier in the day, I swiped in Queens and transferred to a bus (with the normal bus displays) and both trips show up on my account statement, as they should. The fact that the "Pass OK" trip doesn't show up on the statement makes it seem like it never registered my using it. |

Earlier in the day I swiped in Queens and transferred in Manhattan and the bus displayed the correct messages and both trips appear on my statement. The "Pass OK" trip doesn't appear on the statement; it's as if it never occurred. |
