It takes a good skilled driver to make those moves with a bus however he has major road rage and is a danger on the road PERIOD!! I admit to having driven like that in my 20s in my own personal car and now as a mature adult, I realize how stupid it was and to let minor incidents on the road go. Proper training includes DEFENSIVE driving rather than OFFENSIVE driving. A good training program drives these skills into your head. |

The notion of outsourcing operation of formerly public transit authority operated transit services in this area should never have been considered an option. It's something that might be viable in smaller urban areas such as saint louis or omaha. In the new york city area it's ridiculous. Like it or not transit is a utility like sewers or highway departments and has to be run as such. Especially in this region. A very bad decision by powers that be in Nassau County. |

Many times I've yelled at car drivers or pedestrians on behalf of bus drivers for blocking bus stops or other stupid things that disrupt the bus and flow of traffic. I know what it's like to deal with idiots on the road. I understand B/O and non B/O here defending the driver or trying to give explanations but his actions are just not acceptable. A turn signal is a legally-required indication of intent, but it does not automatically grant right-of-way. When the bus pulls out in the beginning of the video, that appeared to be returning to traffic from a bus stop, which a number of states have indeed granted automatic right of way (NJT and NJ private buses all have Yield-sign stickers on the bus rear to indicate the NJ state law [39:4-87.1]). But at 0:59, the bus is simply changing lanes to avoid a row of parked cars, and is required to wait for a safe opening before completing the action, turn signal or not. |

I work in Jamaica and I don't know of anyone in the office who commutes by NICE bus even though it's 3 blocks from the Jamaica bus terminal. Most people from LI drive and some take the LIRR to Jamaica and then take an NYCTA bus to the office. |

Actually at that part of Northern blvd the yellow line buffer is one lane wide, therefore its reserved for air.I'm not defending a bus operator "no matter what", however you can see from the footage that the driver could have let the bus pass or simply moved to the left lane, he decides to ignore the movement of the bus and the signal, almost t-bone the bus and honk his horn instead. Then, he's concerned that a bus that is closed door in Queens is passing on the left, who cares, that's an undeveloped part of Northern Blvd, whom/what exactly would the B/O be picking up, frogs? I observe everything when I drive (as you're supposed to) there are people that are in their own bubble, they do not drive concertedly. |

You can also see that he couldn't do so immediately as there was another car in the left lane. You don't know if there wasn't anyone in the left lane who had to stop as well to let the driver in. Then, he's concerned that a bus that is closed door in Queens is passing on the left, who cares, that's an undeveloped part of Northern Blvd, whom/what exactly would the B/O be picking up, frogs? The bus was obviously speeding and changed back into the right lane so close to the filming vehicle that it was obviously meant to antagonize. |

N6 Limited, you're either the driver in the video or a shop steward. Fact is every one of the "moves" in the video if by itself can be excusable. Drivers here whether in their personal cars and/or buses have done them whether it's to avoid a bad driver, get around traffic or whatever. But when you put all those incidents together in a short span of time and obviously against a single driver, it shows the B/O had bad road rage and put many people in unnecessary danger. Stop embarrassing yourself by trying to defend those actions. Assuming you're a NICE driver and you think the actions of the video are acceptable, why don't you do the same exact thing on every run tomorrow and see how you can go without getting into an accident and/or losing your job. |
