Several bus operators who work at MTA Long Island Bus as well as bus operators AND MANAGEMENT at New York City Transit told me that the MTA has already moved into BOTH depots (Mitchell Field and Rockville Centre) and have started to "shake-up" things already in L.I. Bus management. I'm not going to list who's been removed from their positions because that's not soemthing that should be shared on here.MTA Long Island Bus will fold under the MTA Bus Company, which means that the bus will be renumbered, orange stripe peeled off for an ALL blue stripe and destination signs will be changed. For example, you might see something like this for the N6: N6 HEMPSTEAD Now it could say: N6 HEMPSTEAD Hempstead Bus Term via Hillside Av Via Hempstead Tpke or something like that. That's what I've been told BUT could they push the takeover point back...who knows but November 1st, keep an eye out live you in Queens especially in Nassau County. |
