My issue is that there are local bus fleets in other boroughs that are brutalized daily (scratching windows, graffiti, vandalism) much worse than the SI fleets are, yet those depots take far more proper care of their buses rather than Yukon and Castleton. Both depots show that they can actually take care of their buses, because there is in fact, quite a few buses that are in excellent condition and the numbers seem to be rising but it's still a small percentage of the fleet. The bells are disabled all too frequently in SI and that's not something that's in the hands of the passengers, that's the B/Os action. I myself am looking forward to the day that the new depot opens on Staten Island..but there should still be preliminary measures taken by the MTA about the condition of the buses. |
