Bill, I've been on a countless number of Castleton and Yukon buses that have had disabled bells. They'll disable it, in the middle of the route, they'll disable it at the ferry. I've reported it to the MTA twice this month, with the date, the time, the bus number and the bus run..and all I've gotten was the "MTA New York City Transit is committed to providing safe, courteous, reliable, and accessible bus service....." letter. And btw..about the bell issue and you thinking I have no proof, I didn't even have to snap pictures..just view these two shots taken by two different people. To add to that...the caption in the first shot says "One of the many memorable things about living on Staten Island."...I had to laugh at that one because the bells being disabled is an all too familiar situation for Staten Islanders.
