Posted by W.B. on Wed Apr 30 14:06:13 2025 April 30, 1967 - The Book of Route Extensions Manhattan, New York Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (NYCO Division) Effective as of this date, the northern terminus of Route 1 - Fifth and Madison Avenues (via 135th Street) is extended to 147th Street and Lenox Avenue, thus joining Routes 2 - Fifth and Madison Avenues (via Lenox) and 7 - Broadway, Columbus and Lenox Avenues there.
