Also, the new SIM 33 will stop SI-bound (PM trips, I suppose) at Richmond/Hillman Avenues, but the AM trip will stop on Christopher Lane, at Croton St (near the far side of Stop and Shop and the senior living facility- old SI Hotel).I can understand they've done this to eliminate the really bad left turn that the current X10/X10B make (when traveling to Manhattan) at Richmond and Victory- but walking to Christopher/Croton will be very tricky on dark, icy, winter mornings. For this trick of having the work-bound and home-bound trips so far apart, they should try to work with the shopping center to create a small Park and Ride. Alternatively, and even preferably, they should work with DOT to permit buses to turn left from Richmond onto Morani. This way the SIM 33, traveling in both directions, could stop at Lander Avenue (or Hillman, which is close by) |
