It's not just being better, it's being better at a competitive price. The Solyndra product was not a bad product, but the added power produced over a conventional flat plate design could not offset the higher costs. Plus, the Chinese were dumping Solar panels on the market below cost to try and kill competition. You can't compete against someone who is giving something away, when their government is subsidizing their losses. |
