The alternatives could also be to raise the gas tax in the MTA's service area and dedicate that to mass transit, or to raise the MTA portion of the sales tax. (Some have actually suggested a gas tax floor to prevent fuel from going below a minimum price.)Also, when an MTA board member, Norman Seabrook, suggested selling naming rights to major facilities and stations, it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. |
